When it comes to Kagawa, Sanuki Udon and Honetsukidori (bone-in chicken) come to mind. Recently, it’s becoming common to tour udon shops during the day and then finish off with honetsukidori. While there are many places offering honetsukidori within the prefecture, including the famous ones, the place I want to recommend this time is “Honetsukidori Yoridori Midori,” a popular restaurant located in Hyogomachi Shopping Street in Takamatsu City.
The characteristic of their honetsukidori is that while it maintains the spiciness typical of honetsukidori, it is slightly milder compared to other places. It is cut to make it easier to eat, making it recommended for tourists from outside the prefecture who might not be familiar with honetsukidori. Many people are addicted to this unique, traditional flavor, so the restaurant is always full. However, the turnover is surprisingly quick, so it’s worth considering a short wait to enjoy this dish.
