Anticipating an increase in tourists to Kagawa during spring break, I’ve compiled a list of recommended cafes near the main tourist attractions.
Reigancyaya(Yashima)
The “Reigan Teahouse” atop Yashima Mountain is a café with stunning views overlooking the Seto Inland Sea and Takamatsu city.
The menu includes a variety of dishes, ranging from Western to Japanese, such as two types of hamburgers, Yashima curry, and a pizza with gorgonzola and honey. For lunch, they offer a selection of warm options like Tiramisu and waffles for desserts, along with a well-rounded assortment of beverages. Especially during this season, the warm Seto Inland Lemonade (hot) comes highly recommended.
During winter, the sun sets early, so please enjoy it while gazing at the sunset!
Place: 1784 Yashima Higashicho, Takamatsu City (At the summit of Mt. Yashima)
Parlor Emerald(Yashima)
If you’re looking for a relaxed place a bit away from the tourist spots, how about “Parlor Emerald” located at the foot of Yashima? This trendy café, renovated from an old traditional house, is popular among locals.
The daily lunch specials, with a choice of 2-3 varieties, offer home-cooked flavors with generous portions of side dishes!
As it’s a popular café, an early lunchtime might be a good idea.
Place: 429-3 Yashima Nakamachi, Takamatsu City
salon blue(kitahama alley)
The Kitahama area, centered around the multipurpose commercial facility “Kitahama Alley” that opened in 2000 by repurposing old warehouses, is a stylish spot along the waterfront of Takamatsu Port. On weekends, it buzzes with many young people.
In one corner of this fashionable city, Kitahama Alley, there’s a somewhat hidden gem – “Salon Blue.” A cafe recommended by locals, it embodies the comfort of its interior expressing Setouchi’s craftsmanship, art, music, and food. With its cozy atmosphere and views of the Seto Inland Sea, this cafe is a local favorite in the trendy Kitahama Alley.
Please note that we operate from the late afternoon on weekdays.

i am.(Takamatsu city area)
Located in the bustling downtown area of Takamatsu City, “i am.” is a cafe filled with the aspiration to bring the charm of “cute” things, such as delicious food and stylish spaces, to many people by proposing the lifestyle of women who appreciate quality. This cafe is particularly popular among young women.
While strolling around the city, please be sure to drop by!
Place:1-10-7 Kawaramachi, Takamatsu City
AILEY CAFE(Seto Ohashi Bridge)
“AILEY CAFE,” located at the base of the Seto Ohashi Bridge in Uthazu Town, is a popular café with a high feminine charm, featuring a white building with a striking bright blue door. In the interior adorned with thoughtful touches unique to the female owner, indulging in sweet treats might just rejuvenate your own feminine charm.
The model who introduced the shop mentioned, “I often use this very stylish cafe with great taste when I feel like my feminine charm is fading due to consecutive work, haha.”
Place:20-2 Hama Niban-cho, Utazu-cho, Ayaka-gun
Sando Sand. Stand(Kotohira Shrine)
“Sando Sand. Stand,” located just off the approach to Kotohira-gu Shrine, is a café where you can enjoy delicious homemade bagel sandwiches. The café exudes a sense of style in both its interior and exterior. In the gallery at the back of the store, art exhibitions and solo shows are held irregularly, making it a currently noteworthy place in Konpira.
The bagel sandwiches here are seriously delicious!
Place:725 Kotohira-cho, Nakatado-gun
Kaikosha Cafe (Zetsunji)
After paying your respects at the main temple Zentsuji, be sure to drop by the Kaigyo Society Café located next to the retro Kaigyo Society building built during the Meiji period. The stylish and tasteful interior is bright and open. When you step into the garden, you can also enjoy a view of the Kaigyo Society building from the back. The lunch options are quite impressive as well.
When it comes to having tea in Zentsuji, I almost always use this cafe.
Place:2-1-1 Bunkyocho, Zentsuji City
cafe de flots(Chichibugahama)
On the outskirts of the popular tourist destination, Oyabugahama, there is a cafe with a view of the sea called “cafe de flots,” renovated from a corrugated warehouse. While it gives the impression of having more local customers than tourists, the café is exceptionally comfortable as it is not overly crowded. The lunch options, featuring locally sourced ingredients, are also outstanding.
Personally, I enjoy the natural light entering the interior, making it a cafe where taking photos is a delightful experience.
Place:165-1 Niotsu, Nio-cho, Mitoyo City
Unpenji Coffee & Park (Unpenji)
Opened at the Cloud Edge Temple Summit Park, which has been dominating social media discussions with attractions like the Sky Swing, “Unpenji Coffee & Park” is a coffee stand renovated from a camping trailer. Operated by popular coffee shops such as Shitan Coffee, Shimamami Coffee, and Karst Coffee, this stand is gaining attention.
The coffee here is meticulously hand-dripped. After placing your order, they drip it right there, creating a wonderful aroma.
How about taking a ride on the Unpenji Ropeway to savor the sky-high experience and then heading out to enjoy some delicious coffee?
Place:1974-57 Marui, Onoharacho, Kanonji City, Unbenji Summit Park
Olive Palace RestleA (Shodoshima)
At the elevated Olive Palace RestlaA, located on a hill in the Olive Park on Shodoshima, you can enjoy a scenic lunch overlooking the Seto Inland Sea, featuring ingredients sourced from the island. Moreover, with prices comparable to a casual café lunch, it’s one of the appealing aspects that makes it easy to drop by without any hesitation.
The extra virgin olive oil produced in Shodoshima is excellent!
